Text:History of Art for Young People, selected materials for specific topics
Course Description: Students in Art II will experience critical and creative thinking skills with the meaning of Art and the relationship between Art work and nature. It is for the study of creative uniqueness, communication and the awareness of meaning of artists statements in Art History. It is oriented in the Fine Arts and includes extended understanding of drawing, painting, pottery, sculpture and mixed media.
Goals:Goal 1: Learn to use Art history to improve comprehension of Art and to assimilate masters work into student work as best as possible. Goal 2: To keep pace with required readings and assignments, managing time properly. Requirements:Students are to arrive in class prepared and are expected to keep up with all assignments. All must be responsible in the Art room per guidelines in student handbook and class requirements. All assignments are due on time and graded as specified in student/teacher contract.Resources:Art room, materials to meet student needs.
Evaluation:Grading based on the Art elements and principles for all projects created and submitted. Quizzes, class participation, homework, and final tests on all written material as well as class work. Work is expected to be completed on due dates and graded as outlined within signed student/teacher contract.Art II Weekly Outline |
