Course Description:

Art III is designed to offer excellence in individual artistic ability.  Art III is intended primarily for students of above average ability and interest.  It provides in-depth understanding and technique as well as  Art history for awareness and interpretation.  It is also intended to be a study of communication between artist and their environment.  This course may be used by students preparing for a career in the fine arts or to build a portfolio in preparation for college or university entrance.

Goals:

Goal 1:  Learn to use Art history to improve comprehension of Art and to assimilate

             masters work into student work as best as possible.

Goal 2:  To keep pace with required readings and assignments, managing time 

              properly.

Requirements:

Students are to arrive in class prepared and are expected to keep up with all assignments.  All must be responsible in the Art room per guidelines in student handbook and class requirements.  All assignments are due on time and graded as specified in student/teacher contract. 

Resources:

Art room, materials to meet student needs.

 

Evaluation:

Grading based on the Art elements and principles for all projects created and submitted.  Quizzes, class participation, homework, and final tests on all written material as well as class work.  Work is expected to be completed on due dates and graded as outlined within signed student/teacher contract.
