MARY R. FISHER ELEMENTARY SCHOOL

This is Len Cabral - internationally known story teller that met with grades 3 & 4/ Pre-K & K / grades 1 & 2 to tell them stories that had a variety of settings and characters an interwoven themes about good deeds and character. The students sat spellbound as he spoke and participated when needed throughout the stories. A great beginning to the Red Tiger Reading Program as the whole school stopped for 15 min. of silent reading later on in the day. All students then were instructed to color in their first tiger on their Red Tiger Reading Sheet. Our goal this year as a school is 26,000 hours!! That means each student must read 15 minutes per day for our school to reach it's goal. New books and incentives are placed on this year's Tiger Trail for each student to obtain through their reading points. All classrooms are also eligilble to have a classroom prize as they attain reading goals throughout the year.
